Popcaan Rocks African Outfit In New Look – DancehallMag

One of dancehall’s most influential musical icons, Popcaan, continues to be a trendsetter among the youths.

The singer is often clad in ripped jeans, muscle T-shirts, but today, he posted an unusual outfit on his Instagram page, this time in an African outfit, with the caption “wey me african fans them dey? #outside.”  In an Instagram Story today, he adds “African style we a kill dem wid today.”

The outfit is of multi-colored dashiki material, which is very popular among Africans. The baggy pants are made similarly to joggers and tucked neatly into his yellow and black jordans. The jordans nicely complement his outfit, which has elements of yellow in it. His shirt is sleeveless and roomy, very different from his normal style of tightly fitted shirts.

The My Way singer’s recently trimmed locks were twisted into what looks like Bantu knots to complete the look.

Popcaan’s outfit, adorned with gold chains and sunglasses, may have been grabbed during his last trip to the motherland.  The deejay rang in 2020 with a visit to Ghana earlier this year, surprising fans with the purchase of a home in the West African country.

His post today was a hit among fans, many of them commenting by using “fire” and “heart” emoji on his page with comments like “Fully African”, and “BC a who that man? the gyal them lion! #king a the gyal jungle.”

His sister, Unruly Squid, commented “I often asked my self if we really related because uuu a Supmn else.”

Andrae’ Popcaan’ Sutherland’s latest album, FIXTAPE, currently sits at No. 2 for the second consecutive week on the Billboard Reggae chart. The nineteen track project reflects the music that he has continuously produced over the last six years.
