I would like to thank everyone who came out to the opening reception of “Caribbean – Man In the Mirror” selected works by Rupert Rukuumba Nedd. The artist’s iconographic retrospective covers a wide range from his formative years as a young artist to present. The exhibition is visually impressive and has been very well received by patrons of South Fulton Arts Center! Caribbean Heritage Month commemoration was adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2005 to recognize the significance of Caribbean people and their descendants in the history and culture of the United States. The resolution passed the Senate in Feb. 2006 and President George H.W. Bush issued the proclamation in June 2006. Courtney McFarlane, president of the Caribbean-American Heritage Foundation, and members of the Caribbean American Heritage Foundation were all in attendance for the for the opening reception on June 30th 2018. The exhibition will be on display until August 4th 2018. Here are a few images from the opening reception. Thanks so much for reading!
